Training & Obedience
Pee Pads These can be used to start potty training. They can also be used to soak up an accident and then the dirty pad can be placed in the area that you want your puppy to use.
Bedding I don't recommend investing in an expensive bed at this point. Think washable. Old towels, blankets or inexpensive crate pads work best. Don't use things that you will be upset about if they are destroyed. But remember that what you use needs to also be absorbent just in case they have an accident. Have several on hand to rotate.
Toys A variety of different types is good. I recommend Nylabone, Kong and Petstage.
Star Everlast is great for crate time. It is like a dog lollipop. One will last a very long time.
Plushpup Invincibles are great for making noise and also nice to cuddle with.
Also think of interactive toys. Something they have figure out how to get a treat out of.
Grooming Tools To start a Pin brush will be all you need. As the coat comes in you will want a Rake and a Slicker these three tools will keep the three I use all the time. I would recommend the medium or large size. A pair of nail clippers is a must.
Collar and Leash An adjustable collar is best to start with. For a young puppy a harness is okay, but I am against harnesses for dogs. A good sturdy six foot leash is the best. I do not recommend the retractable leashes.
Treats Think very small on treats. And remember they are rewards, they earn them. I love Crazy Dog Treats. They are small and soft.
Chewing I use Rawhide and have not had any issues. Cow hooves work well, Antlers are great and I also use the Yeti Bones.
